 Santa Fe Indian Market

Each year, the Santa Fe Indian Market showcases the work and artistry of 1,200 artists from over 100 tribes.  Attracting more than 100,000 visitors to Santa Fe from all over the world, buyers, collectors and gallery owners come to Indian Market to take advantage of the opportunity to buy directly from the artists.  For many visitors, this is a rare opportunity to meet the artists and learn more about contemporary Indian arts and cultures.


Hatch Valley Chile Festival

A two-day celebration of Hatch Valley’s world famous chile crop, this festival attracts over 3,000 visitors from all over the world, including the Food Network and the BBC.  Chile lovers can enjoy a wide array of activites from tasting chile recipes and watch a chile cook-off, to tractor pulls and the Chile Queen parade.  The fiesta also showcases the work of local artists and a carnival!


NM State Fair

Also known as “The Biggest Show in New Mexico”, the New Mexico State Fair is an annual state fair held at the 236-acre Expo New Mexico in the heart of Albuquerque.  Attractions include concerts, competitions, rodeos, carnival rides, games, farm animals, horses, agriculture and art.


 Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta

Albuquerque is the premier ballooning city due to the crystal skies, perfect October climate and a phenomenon called the “Albuquerque Box.”  With a combination of weather patterns and geographic landscape, the box allows balloonists to control and even retrace their adventure.  Balloon Fiesta Park covers over 200 acres and is filled with balloons and vendors selling everything from traditional New Mexican food to balloon memorabilia.  Each year, balloons come from around the world to participate in the event and news coverage originates from more than 50 countries.  It has become the most photographed event in the world.


Albuquerque Botanic Gardens River of Lights

The Albuquerque River of Lights has provided sparkling fun in Albuquerque since 1997.  Over 150 displays will dazzle and glow to become larger than life displays.  Some are animated, others in 3D.  The display is based in the Botanic Gardens, so there are plants such as cactus and yucca, but there are also spiders, birds, zoo animals and trucks.  The displays expand every year, some life sized, and others larger than life.
